About the Site

Were this a computer program, Exercising Monsters would be on version 3.7 or so.

It was once a place where I blogged the process of writing my second novel (not published, just like the first one), but I found that I quickly exhausted all my source material.  The posts then started getting more and more eclectic, to the point now where I would hard-pressed to define a theme, or at least a theme that is constant through the site’s entire lifespan.  (My brother has suggested that it is nothing more than stories about being a dad and educational theory, and he is probably right.)

As was once pointed out by a particularly ignorant troll, this is a pretty narcissistic site.  But, I would argue, that applies fairly to the entire concept of blogging, and while I cannot (and have no desire to) escape the narcissism of blogging as a format, I do try to cast a wide net for ideas.  As in my real life, I have trouble focusing on a single thing for very long.

I love this concept- the blog and promo marriage. Plus you get to take time out of your book to let your imagination run around a little free of story imitations/requirements. Keep it up, it’s an entertaining site!

  2. I love all of your work – or the bit I’ve read so far, anyways. It’s hilarious in parts, and you can really tell you enjoy this sort of thing. Keep it up! I can’t wait to read more. 🙂
